| Areas: | The Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) supports research in a broad range of disciplines and in interdisciplinary areas primarily through its Behavior and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) Division and the Social and Economic Sciences (SES) Division.
The BCS Division funds research to develop and advance scientific knowledge on human cognition, language, social behavior and culture, as well as on the interactions between human societies and the physical environment including the implications of nanotechnology on environment and society. SES supports research to enhance our understanding of human, social and organizational behavior by building social science infrastructure, by advancing social science methods, and by supporting disciplinary and interdisciplinary research projects that advance knowledge in the social and economic sciences. |
